Retapamulin is an antibiotic drug used to treat impetigo, a type of infection.
Follow doctor’s instructions. Apply thin layer twice daily for 5 days or longer. Wash hands after application to reduce risk of bacteria spreading.
Do not share retapamulin. Do not use on other skin conditions that have not been diagnosed as impetigo. If you have impetigo, your household should be tested because it is highly contagious. Avoid close contact and sharing personal items. Avoid getting topical into eyes/nose/mouth/vagina. Avoid other medications you may apply to the area of skin affected.
Get emergency help and inform doctor if you experience an allergic or severe skin reaction. Other side effects include: mild irritation, nausea and diarrhea, headache, congestion, sore throat.
