Betaxolol is a beta-blocker used to treat hypertension. Betaxolol is not approved for use by anyone under age 18.
Blood pressure may take 2 weeks to improve. Do not stop use without doctor’s approval. Inform all medical personnel you are taking this drug; it may skew tests.
Do not use if you have a serious heart condition. Inform your doctor of all medications and conditions, including pregnancy, before taking this drug. Reactions may be impaired; use caution driving. Alcohol may amplify side effects.
Get emergency help and inform doctor if you experience: an allergic reaction, slow/uneven heart rhythm, shortness of breath, rapid weight gain, lightheadedness, lupus-slike syndrome. Other common side effects include: slow heartbeat, headache, dizziness, fatigue, upset stomach, decreased libido, impotence. May interact with other meds such as: digoxin, digitalis, diuretics, other beta-blockers, glaucoma eye drops, respiratory meds, heart/blood pressure meds.
