• Letrozole is used to treat breast cancer by lowering estrogen levels in postmenopausal women, which may slow breast tumors that need estrogen to grow
• Letrozole is often used by women who have taken tamoxifen for 5 years

• Caregivers: letrozole can pass into bodily fluids; wear rubber gloves when handling patient's bodily fluids, contaminated trash, laundry, and diapers; wash hands before and after wearing gloves; wash patient's soiled laundry separately
• Before starting this medication, inform your doctor if you have experienced or have:
• liver disease, especially cirrhosis
• osteoporosis or osteopenia
• high colesterol
• taken tamoxifen
• Are pregnant, or are planning for pregnancy

Do not use this medication if you:

• Are pregnant
• Have not completed menopause
• Are breastfeeding
• Are allergic to it

Cease use and seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

• An overdose
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as: hives, difficulty breathing, swollen face/mouth/throat/tongue
