Jardiance is an oral medication used to lower and manage blood sugar levels in diabetes patients. The main ingredient in Jardiance is empagliflozin, which works by assisting the kidneys’ process of removing glucose from your bloodstream. Together with a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen, Jardiance can improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. In diabetes patients who also have heart disease, Jardiance may be prescribed to lower the risk of death from a heart attack, heart failure, or stroke. • Light-headedness or feeling like fainting

• Ketoacidosis, displayed as nausea, vomiting, confusion, drowsiness, and trouble breathing
• Bladder infection, indicated by burning pain during urination, blood in the urine, or pain in the pelvis and back

Does Jardiance make you lose weight?

Although Jardiance can help patients with type 2 diabetes lose weight, this is not the approved use. In clinical studies, patients taking Jardiance alone experienced 2 to 3 percent weight loss, but Jardiance should not be used for weight loss in patients without type 2 diabetes.
